Various industries in the Philippines are already on their slow but steady path to recovery and that includes the education sector. Despite the compromises and major changes made in the educational system to navigate through the now normal, the Department of Education (DepEd) has successfully opened classes for SY 2020-2021.
Monitoring of the opening of classes Pasong Buaya III Elementary School (PB III ES) Parent supervisor Ma'am Leah J. Guillang, EPS Araling Panlipunan, monitored the preparations of PB III ES teaching and non-teaching staff for the opening of school year 2020-2021 on October 5, 2020. PB III ES implements the program of Department of education. They have been focusing on the proper implementation of the alternative learning delivery modalities and providing the necessary psychosocial support for the academic community. The learning delivery modalities of the school adopt depending on the student preferred modality.
Meanwhile, Here are the modalities offered by the school: 1. Distance learning. This is a learning method in which the teacher and the students are separated geographically during instruction. Modular distance learning, online distance learning, and television/radio-based instruction are the three types of this modality. This is most feasible for independent learners who are supervised by their parents or guardians on a regular basis. 2. Blended Learning. This is a type of learning delivery that combines face-to-face instruction with Modular Distance Learning, Online Distance Learning, and Television/Radio-Based Instruction, or a combination of the three. Blended learning will allow schools to reduce the number of individuals outside the house at any given moment while also limiting face-to-face learning. 3. Homeschooling. This modality is a self-paced, and therefore participants can use provided asynchronous learning elements, such as online audio and video and discussion forums, at the time and place of their choosing.
"There are a lot of factors in order to be successful in the new normal education. We are accelerating the preparation of our Learning Continuity Plan (LCP), preparing benefits for our teaching and non-teaching staff, ensuring the readiness and cleanliness of our school infrastructure, and developing alternative delivery modes of learning." Ma'am Alona O. Verdad, principal of PB III ES said. "What we guarantee our students, parents, teachers, and the broader public is that any decision we make regarding their continued education will prioritize their health, safety, and well-being." she added.
In the meantime, the whole PB III ES teaching and non-teaching force follow the minimum health and safety protocols set by the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) as they physically report in the office.
