Pasong Buaya III Elementary School (PB III ES) and its partners have been very deep into the preparations for the school opening. As part of the preparations for school opening, PB III ES started the regular enrollment on Aug. 16. The regular enrollment will be until Sept. 13 or the opening day of classes and will end on June 24, 2022.
Oplan Balik Eskwela (OBE) in the ‘new normal’
With the theme, “Bayanihan Para SA Ligtas na Balik Eskwela,” the National OBE for SY 2021-2022 will be conducted from September 6 - 17.
“The OBE is a two-week national activity of DepEd that aims to address queries, complaints and other concerns that are commonly encountered by the public at the start of the school year, to ensure that learners are properly enrolled and able to attend (thru blended learning) the first day of classes,” DepEd
As stated in DepEd Memorandum No. 58 s. of 2021, PB III ES sets up the OBE – Public Assistance Command Center (OBE-PACC) at school with its committee. The OBE is a DepEd annual initiative to engage agencies, organizations, and other stakeholders in preparation for the opening of the SY 2021-2022. It is part of the Department’s effort to ensure that learners are properly enrolled. It aims to address problems, queries, and other concerns commonly encountered by the public at the start of the school year.
The OBE-PACC shall serve as an information and complaints processing and routing mechanism. It shall perform the following functions:
-Receive, process, and respond to simple queries, information requests, and complaints from the general public, including those forwarded by other DepEd offices; -Assist in the dissemination and clarification of DepEd policies, programs, projects, and processes, particularly those relevant to the opening of classes; -Correctly identify and coordinate with the concerned DepEd offices on complex concerns that will require the specific offices’ appropriate action; and -Monitor, document, and submit reports on all issues and concerns received by the OBE-PACC, including the action taken.
OBE Best practices of Pasong Buaya III ES
PB III ES ensures that parents and students will be guided for the opening of SY 2021-2022. Localized OBE materials such as update of number of enrollees, countdown before the opening of classes, FAQs about enrollment, are developed and posted in different social media platforms of school to disseminate the information. Posters and other campaigned materials are posted in the barangays to reach more students.
Teachers make sure that their classrooms and other learning materials will be ready for the opening of classes. They also developed video lessons and supporting learning resources in support of delivering the quality education.
Part of the Oplan Balik Eskwela 2021 is keeping the school clean and safe for teachers, parents, and guardians. And this has been possible through the help of our CSUs. They have always been a key part of maintenance, cleanliness, and keeping the school safe, but during this outbreak, the importance of their roles has greatly increased. Officially deemed an essential job, they have taken on the role of frontline soldiers in the battle to stop the spread of coronavirus.
All of these preparations were possible through the effort of teaching, non-teaching staff, parents, and stakeholders.
